Aight, folks! Starkey’s comin’ in to make his Chicago debut on Friday and we thought you might like a taste of what to expect at this sure-to-be-blazin’ party.

…cranking out a steady stream of his own remixes, bootlegs, and 12″ tracks. This past year saw the release of his full-length debut Ephemeral Exhibits (Planet Mu), as well as the appearance of [Starkey’s] more club-bumpin’ tracks under his Moves!!! alias… [He] tops the roster at Lava on Friday, taking the headlining slot for what marks his Chicago debut. The opening sets belong to Timid and DJ C — the latter of whom will be performing with Chicago dancehall mic-masher MC Zulu.
Well, here we are in 2009. The turn of the century is almost over. The Oh-Ohs have been too NAUGHTy. It’s time for change; Lets get some ones in our two thousands!
But that’s for next year. Right now I’d like to take a look back at last year. I was asked by the 88 Music Blog to submit one of those top 10 lists that everyone seems to do around the new year, and here’s what I cam up with:

On Monday, Jan. 12 we featured a very special guest on the Joystyxx Radio show who performed a live on-air set.
Rainbo Video makes bangin’ electo-club mashups and performs them live with his laptop/MIDI controllers. I haven’t seen his live show yet but I hear when it happens out in the club the tunes are accompanied by live video also comin’ straight outta’ said labptop. Dude’s got a fun music blog too.
