      • Mashit is a Chicago record label producing body-moving genre-blends

      • “One of the most forward-looking labels.” - URB Magazine

Mashit began by producing vinyl records at the turn of the millennium, including the first releases from now-legendary artists like (Chrissy) Murderbot and Aaron Spectre (Drumcorps). As they flew off the shelves, the earliest Mashit 12-inches became underground classics.

Soon, BBC Radio 1 host John Peel chose Mashit as a “label of the month” and had founder DJ C record a session of Mashit tracks.

The label has gone on to produce 7 more 12-inches, & over 20 digital releases.

“At the crossroads of the genre-blending, digital-remix and bouncing-bass-obsessed international DJ scene, … Mashit has a rep for pushing underground dance culture forward, both online and off.” - Time Out Chicago

        HopesAndDrums

Hailing from the end of hurricanes where the ocean pulls sand into the undertow, HopesAndDrums generate sounds of a time that land forgot.

As we await the arrival of their debut album on Mashit, HopesAndDrums visual art has been published in the Italian art magazine Prompt and has been exhibited at the MassMOAA Museum where their debut tune was unveiled.
